Junk Removal in Yorba Linda, CA: Cost & Guide
Most junk jobs we run in Yorba Linda land between $75 and $700. A single item like a sectional or an old fridge usually runs $75 to $175. A packed three-car garage or a full estate clean-out sits at the top of that range. We give you the price before we touch anything, and the number we quote is the number you pay. No stair fees tacked on at the end, no fuel surcharge surprise. We’re a family shop — My brother Eric and I started EA Junk Removal in Orange County in 2018, and we still run every job ourselves. Yorba Linda homes tend to have real storage, so we see everything here from a single couch to a barn’s worth of buildup. Whatever it is, you get the price first.
How much does junk removal cost in Yorba Linda?
Price is about volume — how much room your stuff takes up in the truck. We don’t charge per item and we don’t guess high to pad the bill. Yorba Linda homes tend to have more storage than most of OC, so loads here can run larger, which is exactly why we quote off what we actually see. Here’s the published range. The full breakdown lives on our Orange County price index.
| Load size | What it usually covers | Price range |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | One couch, mattress, fridge, or a small pile | $75–$175 |
| Quarter truck | A closet purge, a few pieces of furniture | $200–$300 |
| Half truck | A one-car garage, a small apartment | $300–$450 |
| Full truck | A packed garage, a full estate or move-out | $500–$700 |
A couple of things move the number inside those ranges. Heavy material like concrete, dirt, or old roof tile weighs a lot for the space it fills, so it prices a bit differently than light household clutter. A long carry from a back barn or an upstairs bonus room is more work than a curbside grab. And a short list of items — paint, motor oil, car batteries — can’t ride in a normal landfill load and need special handling. We flag all of that when we quote. We give you a flat number on-site, or over a photo if you text one. If the pile’s smaller than it looked, the price comes down. Simple.
Does Yorba Linda pick up bulky items for free?
Yes. The City of Yorba Linda contracts with Republic Services for residential trash, and the deal includes bulky-item pickups. Residents get a set number of bulky pickups per calendar year with a per-pickup item cap — confirm the current figures when you call. No building materials and no hazardous waste. You schedule ahead by calling Republic customer service at 1-800-700-8610 and set the items out on the day they give you.
That’s a genuinely good program — ten items three times a year covers a lot. Where it runs out of road: it won’t take construction or renovation debris, you’re capped at three windows a year, and you haul everything to the curb yourself. If you’re clearing a full estate, doing a remodel tear-out, or you’ve already used your three pickups, the free service can’t stretch to cover it. It also doesn’t help much when the item is too heavy to move to the curb or your street can’t have a pile sitting out for days. That’s where we come in.
Which Yorba Linda neighborhoods do we work in most?
We cover all of Yorba Linda — the “Land of Gracious Living.” A few areas send us more calls, and each has its own pattern. These are trends we tend to see, not hard rules.
- The equestrian and large-lot estates on the east side. Bigger lots mean bigger accumulations — barns, sheds, side yards, and multi-car garages that have filled up over years. These are usually our full-truck jobs, sometimes more than one load.
- Established neighborhoods near Yorba Linda Blvd and Imperial Hwy. Long-term family homes. When someone downsizes or a property changes hands, decades of stuff comes out at once. Furniture, old appliances, garage overflow.
- The newer developments up toward the hills and Vista Del Verde. Newer builds, tighter HOA rules about what sits at the curb and for how long. We carry items straight out so nothing lingers in a common area.
- Homes near the Placentia and Anaheim Hills lines. A mix of remodels and move-outs. Renovation debris and left-behind furniture are the usual calls.
Wherever you are, the job runs the same: on time, floors and doorframes protected, and the space left clean when we pull out.
Where can you donate or drop off junk in Yorba Linda yourself?
If your stuff still works, donating beats dumping it. Two dependable options near Yorba Linda:
- Goodwill of Orange County, Placentia — 1101 E. Imperial Hwy. The closest full Goodwill donation center, a few minutes west. They take gently used furniture, home goods, and electronics at the door behind the store. Confirm hours on the Goodwill locator first.
- Habitat for Humanity of Orange County ReStore. A good home for furniture, working appliances, cabinets, and building materials — handy if you’re mid-remodel. Email them a photo to check an item’s a fit; details on the Habitat OC donation page. Larger items may qualify for pickup.
When we haul for you, we pull the donatable pieces out and run them to a charity when we can. We recycle metal and cardboard too, instead of dumping it. You don’t lift a thing or make a second trip.
What’s the nearest landfill if you want to self-haul?
Yorba Linda sits in north Orange County, so your closest county facility for household self-haul is the Olinda Alpha Landfill at 1942 N. Valencia Ave. in Brea — a short drive up Valencia. It’s open to OC residents Monday through Saturday, roughly 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. You’ll pay a dump fee by weight, and you need a truck or trailer, tie-downs, and the muscle to unload yourself. The Bowerman landfill in Irvine is commercial-only, so skip it for a home load.
Self-haul works for a light run you can lift solo. Once you count the dump fee, the gas, and your afternoon, a single-item pickup from us often runs about the same — and you never touch it. If the load has anything the landfill won’t accept, that’s a second stop on your own time. We sort all of that out for you.
When does it make sense to call us instead of the city?
Use Yorba Linda’s Republic bulky program when you’re inside the ten-item cap and can wait for the scheduled day. Call us when:
- You’ve got more than three pickups’ worth in a year, or a full garage clean-out.
- It’s remodel debris, which the city program won’t take.
- The item’s heavy or awkward — a sectional, a piano-sized dresser, a fridge from a second-floor bonus room. That’s our furniture removal and appliance removal work.
- You’re on a deadline — a sale, a move, an estate — and can’t wait for the next city window.
We do the lifting, the loading, and the disposal. You point, we clear. If the free city pickup covers your job, use it. When it doesn’t, we’re a call away.
