Junk Removal in Brea, CA — Costs & Local Tips
What does junk removal cost in Brea?
The quick answer: most Brea jobs run $75 to $175 for a single item and $500 to $700 for a full truck. I’m Alex. Eric, my brother, and I have hauled junk across Orange County since 2018, and Brea is home turf for us since the county landfill is right here in town. A quarter-load runs $200 to $300. A half-load runs $300 to $450. We give you a firm price before we lift a thing, and it’s based on how much room your stuff takes in the truck, not the drive.
Brea has a real mix, from the hillside homes off Carbon Canyon to the newer tracts near the mall. The junk reflects it. Big custom-home garages up in the hills, tighter condo and townhome hauls closer to Downtown Brea.
How does our pricing work?
We charge by volume in the truck. No fuel surcharge, no per-item add-ons, no stair fee. Here’s the published range so you can plan the job before you call.
| Load size | What it usually covers | Price range |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | One couch, mattress, or appliance | $75 – $175 |
| Quarter load | A few items, small room cleanout | $200 – $300 |
| Half load | Garage corner, bedroom set | $300 – $450 |
| Full load | Full garage or estate cleanout | $500 – $700 |
The full chart, with photos of each load size, is on our Orange County price index. That’s the same reference we quote from on every Brea job.
What will the city haul away for free?
Always check your trash service first. Brea contracts Republic Services as the sole hauler for the whole city. Residents get three bulky-item pickups a year, with up to 20 items per collection. No building materials and no hazardous waste on those pickups.
You have to schedule it. Call Republic Services at (714) 238-2444, and don’t set items at the curb until your scheduled date. The city keeps the current rules on its Bulky Item Pickup page, and I’d confirm the item count there since these programs get tweaked.
So when do you call us instead? When you’ve already used your three pickups. When it’s building or remodel debris the city won’t take. When you need it gone this week and not on the next cycle. That’s the gap Eric and I fill.
Which Brea neighborhoods do we work in most?
Brea spreads from the canyon down to the flats, and each pocket has its own kind of job:
- Olinda Village — the rural hillside community up by Carbon Canyon, with big lots and custom homes. We tend to see whole-garage and estate cleanouts here.
- Olinda Ranch — the newer master-planned tract on the northeast side. Family homes, so a lot of outgrown furniture, playsets, and mattresses.
- Country Hills — the established single-family blocks with mature streets. Classic garage-cleanout territory.
- Blackstone — the upscale hillside community with larger homes. Bigger loads and remodel debris are common up there.
These are patterns we’ve noticed over the years, not hard rules. Every home is its own puzzle, but we can usually read a garage before we open the door.
Where can I take stuff to the dump myself?
Brea is the easiest city in the county for self-haul, because the Olinda Alpha Landfill is right here at 1942 N. Valencia Ave. It’s open to the public Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s not free, but it’s cheap. Last we checked it runs about $5 for a carload and roughly $20 for a pickup-truck load. Confirm the current rates and hours on the county’s Olinda Alpha page before you head over. You’ll need to show your waste came from within Orange County, and they don’t take hazardous material, paint, or chemicals.
Since the landfill is in town, self-haul actually makes sense for Brea folks with a truck and a light load. For anything heavy, awkward, or up a flight of stairs, our single-item price usually beats the hassle. Your call.
What can I donate instead of tossing?
If it still works or still has good life left, donate it before it hits the landfill. Two options that serve Brea well:
- Habitat for Humanity ReStore takes furniture, appliances, and building materials. The Anaheim ReStore on West Katella is the closest one to Brea. Their donation hotline is 714-434-6202 if you want to check an item first.
- Goodwill of Orange County runs stores across the county for clothing, housewares, and small furniture. Check their site for the nearest North County donation door and hours.
On our cleanouts, we set aside anything donatable and route it to a reuse spot when we can. It keeps good stuff out of the dump, and it’s just the right way to do the job.
What do we haul most in Brea?
A handful of jobs come up over and over here:
- Furniture removal — couches, sectionals, mattresses, and bed frames. The heavy, awkward stuff that needs two people and a truck.
- Garage cleanouts — the bread-and-butter Brea job, especially in the hillside tracts with the big garages.
- Appliance removal — old fridges, washers, dryers, and water heaters. We do the heavy lift so you don’t hurt yourself.
You point, we carry it out. You lift nothing. We sweep up before we go.
Do you recycle, or does it all go to the landfill?
Not everything belongs in the ground, and being based near the Brea landfill doesn’t change that. On a cleanout we sort as we load. Metal like old appliances and bed frames goes to scrap. E-waste, meaning TVs, monitors, and computers, gets routed to an electronics recycler instead of the dump. Anything still usable heads to donation when we can set it up.
Why does it matter? It keeps good material out of the landfill, and it means the stuff you set out often gets a second life. You don’t sort or lift a thing. You point at the pile, we handle where it goes from there.
How soon can you get to a Brea home?
Usually same week, and often next day when we have an opening. Brea is home base for us, so you’re not waiting on a long drive. If you’re on a deadline, like a move-out, an escrow close, or a Republic Services window you just missed, tell us at booking and we’ll fit the job in.
Here’s the flow. You call or book online. We give you a window and text when we’re on the way. We size up the load, confirm the price, and get to work. Single-item and quarter-load jobs are often done in under an hour. A full hillside garage takes longer, but we usually clear it in one visit.
Do you handle the hillside homes off Carbon Canyon?
Yes, and those are some of our favorite Brea jobs. The Olinda Village and Blackstone homes up in the hills tend to have big garages, long driveways, and years of accumulated stuff. Steep lots and narrow canyon roads don’t stop us, we bring the right truck and the manpower to work them.
Down in the flats near Downtown Brea and the mall, it’s more condo and townhome work, with tighter access and shared parking. We handle both ends of town the same way: upfront price, no lifting for you, and a clean sweep before we leave.
How do you book EA Junk Removal in Brea?
Call or text us at (949) 565-2609 for a same-week slot, or visit our Brea page to see service details and book online.
You get an upfront price before we start and no surprise charges at the end. Want to talk it through first? Every way to reach us is on our contact page. Eric and I still run most jobs ourselves, so when you call, you’re talking to the family that owns the truck.
